What is RMS
The Responsible mohair Standard (RMS) is an international voluntary standard for animal welfare of goat farms and mohair's chain of custody products from certified farms to the final.
Individual sites are certified by independent, third-party certification bodies using annual audits. Material is tracked from the farm to the final product using Transaction Certificates (TC).
Principles of RMS
The RMS goal is to provide the industry with a tool to identify farmers' best practices, ensure that mohair comes from a farm that gradually manages land, and fully respects the animal welfare of goats. Provide a sound chain of custody from the farm to the final product, so that consumers can believe that mohair is the real RMS in the product they choose.
