The Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) is a voluntary standard that involves the welfare of alpacas and the land they graze.
Individual sites are certified by independent, third-party certification bodies using annual audits. Material is tracked from the farm to the final product using Transaction Certificates (TC).
Principles of RAS
The goal of RAS is to provide a tool for the industry to recognize farmers' best practices; Ensure that alpaca fiber comes from farms, which adopt the way of gradually managing land and fully respect the animal welfare of alpacas.
