Characteristics of HIGG FEM

Higg Index is a set of standardized self-assessment tools developed by the Sustainable Clothing Alliance SAC, which aims to help brands/suppliers/manufacturers/factories of all sizes to assess the impact of the production of consumer goods such as clothing and footwear on sustainable development. Among them, the factory environment module Higg Index Facility environmental module (Higg FEM) is one of the three verification frameworks of Higg Index.

It is mainly used by manufacturers and factories. The self-assessment is completed once a year, and a third-party verification agency recognized by SAC is selected to complete the verification. Practical and qualitative problems are used to evaluate the performance of environmental sustainable development, so as to promote manufacturers to improve. Higg Index evaluation verified by recognized reviewers can improve the supply chain system and customer trust. Its contents and scores can be shared with relevant brands.
