The relationship between the ZDHC InCheck solution and other parts of the overall ZDHC solutionIssuing time:2023-12-06 08:43 ZDHC adopts a holistic approach to implementing sustainable chemical management, and promotes tangible progress in a wider industry through a series of reference guidelines, practical tools, capacity building, and innovative projects. Among them, the ZDHC InCheck solution can be used by all suppliers who use and store chemical products on site. To understand how the ZDHC InCheck solution can help suppliers achieve more sustainable chemical management, the editor will take you to understand its relationship with other important standards and solutions in ZDHC's overall plan. 01. List of restricted substances for ZDHC production The basis of ZDHC's overall plan is the ZDHC Production Restricted Substance List (ZDHC MRSL), which is a list of prohibited chemical substances intentionally used by factories. 02. ZDHC Gateway - Chemical Module The ZDHC Gateway - Chemicals module is a chemical database that displays the ZDHC MRSL compliance levels for these chemicals. Suppliers can use this module to conduct cross checks on their chemicals and find alternatives that meet higher compliance levels. 03. ZDHC Chemical Management System Framework The ZDHC Chemical Management System Framework elaborates on ZDHC's policies, procedures, and minimum requirements for supplier chemical management systems. In addition, the ZDHC CMS framework also elaborates on the necessity for suppliers to properly maintain the Chemical Inventory List (CIL). CIL refers to a list of all chemicals stored or used in factories, processes, and tooling/operations. How to download CIL can be found in our previously published articles: How to download the Verified InCheck Level 1 Chemical Inventory List (CIL)? 04. ZDHC InCheck Solution The ZDHC InCheck solution provides an overview of ZDHC MRSL compliance levels for chemicals in supplier chemical inventory, which is very easy to understand. By checking the chemicals in the inventory and registering them in the ZDHC Gateway Chemicals module, suppliers can gain a deeper understanding of their overall performance and identify areas for improvement. Finally, in order to successfully implement the ZDHC solution, suppliers need to conduct InCheck report verification, improve transparency and credibility, and demonstrate to the brand that their chemical inventory is in a reliable and trustworthy management state. Before applying for Verified InCheck, the supplier needs to provide Performance InCheck reports for three consecutive months and then contact us for on-site verification. Verified InCheck is completed through random "spot checks" with a sample size of 30 chemicals, limited to 30 chemicals. The verification types are divided into: Type 1 (first category inventory): All chemicals with less than 30 types will be randomly inspected. Type 2 (second type of inventory): 30 or more chemicals are randomly selected according to a specific type ratio, with a total of 30 types sampled. A final score of ≥ 80% indicates successful verification. If the final score is<80%, the supplier should generate a Performance InCheck report again in the next 3 months and reapply for on-site verification work. |
