After receiving a GRS order, enterprises need to pay attention to the following issues!Issuing time:2023-12-13 11:20 The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a standard developed by Textile Exchange (TE). This standard applies to the certification of products containing over 20% recycled materials, including textiles, leather, ceramics, plastic products, metal products, etc. The use of recycled materials provides an environmentally friendly solution for the industry, and many brands consider obtaining GRS certification as a necessary condition for selecting suppliers. The editor reminds everyone that if a company has already passed GRS certification and received GRS orders, it should also pay attention to the following aspects to prevent problems caused by improper subsequent operations. After receiving the GRS order 1. Check if suppliers and subcontractors have GRS qualifications. GRS orders involving subcontracting processing can only be implemented after the subcontracting unit has been added to the GRS scope certificate, ensuring the integrity of the supply chain. 2. Check if your GRS certificate contains this order product and ensure that the product is included in the certificate. Products can be updated in a timely manner based on the order situation. 3. For orders with outsourced processing, check if there is a need to add or update subcontractors to ensure that the processing activities comply with the actual certification situation. After delivery of supplier raw materials 1. Check if the contract, invoice, and delivery note meet the requirements of GRS standards. 2. Require suppliers to apply for TC work immediately. There can be time requirements, such as requiring it to be opened within 7 working days, and it is important to avoid notopening TC after the delivery of raw materials. After delivering the product to the customer 1. Check if the contract, invoice, and delivery note meet the requirements of GRS standards. 2. Confirm with the customer whether immediate issuance of TC is required. If not, inform the customer of the time of TC application to avoid delay in issuing TC in the future. Time node for issuing TC certificate 1. Within 90 days after the product is shipped, be sure to release the TC. 2. If there is a situation where it takes more than 90 days after shipment but not more than 180 days, a certification body evaluation is required before TC can be issued. 3. After the TC v3.1 update on November 15, 2023, products with a delivery time exceeding 180 days can also be opened for TC if any of the following conditions are met, including: a. The textile exchange has approved exemptions or exceptions to the TC schedule. b. A complete and valid application is received within 60 days after the issuance of the input TC, and the input TC is issued within the specified time. c. All products were previously included in electronic transactions, which are no longer valid and allow TC issuance. d. If the products on TC are limited to product categories PC0032 (top) and PC0034 (unstained fibers), as well as the following claimed raw materials: RM0003 (organic alpaca wool), RM0007 (responsible alpaca wool), RM0060 (organic mohair), RM0064 (responsible mohair), RM0079 (organic wool), RM0083 (responsible wool). e. Within 365 days of the earliest shipment date, if the certification body can directly certify the transportation documents to third-party transportation suppliers (such as regular carriers or shipping companies) or government authorities. f. If all products on TC are final products within 365 days of the earliest delivery date. Renewal of GRS certification 1. Suggest arranging for renewal in advance and preparing well. In addition, certificates are issued according to the expiration date of old certificates and do not waste time or money. 2. If the certificate expires due to untimely renewal and the new certificate has not beenissued yet, the period from the expiration date of the old certificate to the issuance dateof the new certificate bookmark belongs to the "gap period". During this period, products cannot be shipped to customers because products shipped during the gap period cannot apply for TC. 3. If the certificate has indeed expired due to improper operation, TC can also be issued if the following conditions are met: firstly, the certificate cannot be expanded after expiration, and it is necessary to ensure that the certificate includes products and subcontractors that need to be TC issued. Under these conditions, the certification body can still provide the service of issuing TC within 30 days after the certificate expires; Within 31-90 days after the certificate expires, it must be evaluated by the certification body whether TC can be issued; After 90 days of certificate expiration, TC cannot be issued again. So, it is recommended that everyone contact our team two to three months in advance to arrange for renewal, in order to avoid unnecessary trouble. |
