Higg FEM provides multiple rating outputs for factories and their stakeholders to understand their performance: FEM total score, partial score, and grade score. Recently, Cascale discovered issues with the scoring calculation used in Higg FEM and is taking measures to resolve them. The new Higg FEM 4.0 total score is expected to be revised on the Worldly platform on May 20, 2024.

The impact of score differences on factories

When calculating the total Higg FEM score from various parts, there may be differences. The discovered differences result in some total scores being inaccurately high or low.

It is worth noting that this issue only affects the summary of the final score, and does not affect the accuracy of the scores for each section or the data you submitted. The factory can still continue to submit self-assessment as planned.

If the factory has completed verification, the current vFEM total score will be corrected and there is no need to resubmit. If the verification has not been completed yet, it can continue to be completed.

The reasons for the difference in scores

The latest update of Higg FEM 4.0 introduces complex evaluation levels aimed at adapting to various factory conditions and maturity levels. Although the system is very robust,Cascale still encountered the problem of calculation differences in the total scores obtained from various parts. This difference is inherent in the complexity of the new system and was not discovered in the initial quality assurance process and the first few months after release.

Currently, Cascale is reviewing and enhancing its quality assurance process to avoid such issues, and the new rating is expected to be updated before May 20th.
