ZDHC Verified InCheck–Level 1, Assist in compliance and credibility of chemical managementIssuing time:2024-07-12 08:46 ZDHC Verified InCheck - Level 1 is based on the content published in the chemical module of ZDHC Gateway, and is conducted on-site by a verification agency approved by ZDHC to ensure that the chemicals in the supplier's chemical inventory meet the ZDHC MRSL level and enhance the transparency and credibility of the Performance InCheck report. Scope of application ZDHC recommends that suppliers conduct Verified InCheck Level 1 verification annually, which is applicable to all textile factories, dyeing and finishing factories, washing factories, printing factories, tanneries, and shoe assembly factories. It should be noted that before conducting Verified InCheck - Level 1, suppliers must generate three Performance InCheck reports within the specified time frame (three consecutive months/quarter). Verification process 1. Fill out the application form and collect factory information. 2. Determine the supplier type based on the three collected Performance InCheck reports. Category 1 suppliers: The factory uses less than 30 types of chemicals, and during on-site verification, all chemicals in the inspection report must be checked. Category 2 suppliers: The factory uses more than or equal to 30 types of chemicals, andduring on-site verification, a maximum of 30 types of chemicals will be randomly sampled. 3. Suppliers prepare materials based on document lists, including but not limited to SDS, purchase orders, contracts with chemical suppliers, chemical inventory records, production formula sheets, etc. 4. The verifier issues a report and sends the Verified InCheck - Level 1 verification discovery file to ZDHC. 5. If the verification score is greater than or equal to 80%, the verification is passed, and the factory can log in to ZDHC Gateway and use the "Verified InCheck - Level 1" verification mark. If the verification score is below 80%, the factory will conduct on-site verification again after the specified deadline. Regarding commercial chemicals Commercial chemicals, also known as bulk chemicals, fall within the scope of ZDHC MRSL but are not included in the InCheck report. This is because involving it in the ZDHC gateway and including it in the ZDHC MRSL compliance product database is a challenge. According to the relevant documents of ZDHC, commodity chemicals are defined as "single substances or compounds with well-known chemical structures, a single CAS number, and whose purpose is to create conditions or serve as process aids. Two types of commodity chemicals produced by different manufacturers can be identical and interchangeable. Commodity chemicals usually do not remain on the final product". The price of commodity chemicals is low and can be easily replaced with other similar products without any specific process changes. They will not remain on the finished product, but will be washed away during the processing, posing a risk to the quality of wastewater and sludge. Due to being sold in pure form, it is unlikely that ZDHC MRSL was intentionally added. |
