What are the requirements for BCI in the sub field?

In some cases, organizations may have other branches in multiple locations. Can these locations be covered by an audit report and certificate when conducting BCI Certification?

BCI will list the sub fields as A B、C, Three different scenarios, as shown in the picture, have been summarized by the editor. Let's take a look together.

Scenario A: Single CoC standard audit and certification in multiple locations

Same ownership/legal relationship: Yes.

Same management system: Yes.

Location: Within 50 kilometers and within the same country.

BCP account: There is a total of one BCP account.

Production type: All branch offices are part of the same end-to-end process.

Who is audited: Conduct a comprehensive audit of all locations every three years.

Who is the customer: The branch office can only provide central functions and does notface external customers.

New location: Share new location information with CB.

Audit report and certificate: 1 audit report and certificate, issued in the name of the main venue, but with a list of venues listed in the appendix.

Subcontractor: allowed and managed according to CoC standards, but not required to be included in the certificate.

The places listed on the certificate: the central functions are listed, and the places are listed in the appendix.

Non conformity: NC accumulated across locations.

Self evaluation: One self-evaluation conducted by the home venue, covering all venues.

Supervisory review: Triggered only when specific risks or NC thresholds are reached.

The venue relationship of scenario A is shown in the following figure. We can see that all venues are managed by a BCP account, and only the main venue can directly provide services to customers.

Scenario B: Audit and certification of independent branch offices managed by central functions

Same ownership/law: Yes.

Same management system: Yes.

Location: Same country.

BCP account: Each location has one BCP account.

Production type: The scope of activities in the sub venue may be different from the main venue.

Who is audited: The headquarters is audited once a year, and the sample of branch offices (square root of the total) is audited once a year.

Who are the customers: Each location may provide services to different external customers.

New venue: Conduct internal audits annually and share new venue information with CB.

Audit report and certificate: 1 audit report, but detailed information for each site must be reported. One certificate issued in the name of the home venue, but including a list of venues as an appendix.

Subcontractor: allowed and managed according to CoC standards, but not required to be included in the certificate.

The places listed on the certificate: the central functions are listed, and the places are listed in the appendix.

Non compliance: NCs will be issued at both home and branch offices, and NCs at individual venues may result in overall suspension.

Self assessment: Every venue needs to complete a self-assessment.

Supervision and Audit: CB conducts annual supervision and audit of the main venue, as well as sampling and audit of branch venues.

Scenario C: Multiple locations for brands and traders

Same ownership/legal relationship: Yes.

Same management system: Yes.

Location: Can be in different countries.

BCP account: 1 BCP account per branch office.

Production type: The activities within the scope of the sub site are the same as the central function.

Whether the ownership and legal relationship between places are the same can be determined from the following points. If there are other special circumstances, please contact us for further communication.

1. Only the main venue has a business license, but this business license includes the address of the branch venue;

2. Both the main venue and branch venue have their own business licenses, and they are the same legal entity;

3. Having a controlling relationship, such as the legal person of the main venue holding 51% of the shares of the branch venue;

4. The branch office is the branch office of the main venue.
